The Anvil Fundraising Banquet is our once a year fundraising event. Read on for more information about this beloved event.

In 2020 we have been met with unprecedented times.  Our Annual Fundraising Banquet had to be cancelled this year because of these current world events with COVID-19.  We ask that at this time you join with us do pray and support this camp as we weather this time with our community. Please watch and enjoy the below video. Thank you and take care.

A Message from Anvil Island Regarding Our Fundraising Banquet

Like all of you, our staff and Board of Directors have been closely following the COVID-19 pandemic as it has unfolded over the last few months. This is a time unlike any most of us have seen in decades, if ever. While we live in a world so deeply connected, today we are facing words like ‘social distancing ‘and ‘outbreak’ which can leave us feeling confused, isolated, and even anxious. Thankfully God is bigger than our fear, and He encourages us to bring our worries to Him.
At this time, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone our Anvil Fundraising Banquet scheduled for May 2nd, to October 17th.  This will impact our camp in several ways, including the financial and fellowship aspects, but we look forward to rejoicing in the fall for what God will do at camp over the coming summer.  We are planning to post a special online celebration and update on May 2nd in lieu of our gathering as a community.  We hope that you are able to attend this special event virtually as it will update our community on the Camp and our needs at this time.
Our attention, thoughts, and prayers are also focused on the spring work parties, rentals, and summer season.  The Board has been in regular contact with public health professionals, as the provincial and federal governments have set different guidelines, and they will be making decisions on the rental season and camping season later this spring. To date, we have had to also cancel our annual Spring Work Week as well as receiving a number of rental groups cancelling.
Thankfully, the summer camping season is over three months away, and we have some time to see how this virus responds to current interventions before we make the safest and best choice for our community. We know in this tumultuous season, camp could be a wonderful gift for us all IF it is safe to continue, so we will wait a while longer before cancelling any of our weeks. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our campers, staff, and everyone’s families.
Please pray for the camp ministry and our Board as difficult decisions will need to be made over the next few weeks. We don’t know what this spring and summer holds, or even what tomorrow holds, but please pray with us that we will be able to share the good news of Jesus Christ with campers this summer.

Our annual Banquet helps fund the camp’s operation by raising over $100,000 each year. To help us during this time we are also gratefully accepting donations. More than ever, we are relying on the contributions of donors to ensure we can operate.  If you are able to support us, it is so appreciated at this time.  However, we also recognize that current events are incredibly difficult for our community, as layoffs and job uncertainty are rampant in all sectors.  We are lifting our hurting community up in prayer, and we hope you will lift Daybreak Point Bible Camp up as well.
Thank you for your support and care for Daybreak Point Bible Camp.

Volunteer at the Banquet

Help us make our next Banquet a success!  We are always looking for volunteers to help with set up, take down, to host a table or to donate to our silent auction.  Please email Shannon in the office if you can help in any way!

The Banquet’s Purpose

The Anvil Fundraising Banquet is our big fundraising event of the year.  Daybreak Point Bible Camp is a registered charity in Canada and every penny donated is put into keeping the Camp running and safe so we can continue to minister into the lives of our Campers and Staff.  The Banquet is an evening where we can come together as a community, learn about what is happening at the camp, hear stories from the campers and staff and raise money to support this ministry.

This evening is a wonderful time of Fellowship and Community.  There is much laughter and joy as we gather as a group to celebrate and prepare for the future of our Camp.
