Welcome To Camp 1
Thanks for stopping by the Camp One page! With the cancellation of all Anvil summer camps and the need to be mindful of government regulations to physical distance, we’ve decided to take Camp One online! While we won’t be able to enjoy the ice-cold, morning dips in the Pacific Ocean, the unmistakable aroma of Taco Salad day, and the unparalleled fun of throwing paint at your fellow campers in the Upper field, we’re going to do our best to bring the best that Anvil has to offer into the comfort of your own home.
The main way we’ll be accomplishing this is through our Camp 1 Instagram page (@camp1anvilisland). Each day of the “Virtual Camp One Experience” will begin with a morning greeting at 9:00 am and culminate in an evening Chapel message at 7:00 pm. Throughout the day we’ll be posting a challenge, an encouragement, fun video clips with hashtags – all in the hopes of bringing a little more of our favourite island to the mainland. But that’s not all! This year, the top female and male with the greatest level of online participation will win our “Top Camper” awards! Each Top Camper will receive Assorted Anvil merch, a Starbucks gift card, and “camper perks” to take with you into next year’s Camp One 2021! To ensure your submissions are seen, make sure to include the daily hashtag, the #weareanvil hashtag and mention us at @camp1anvilisland.
So join us the week of Saturday, July 4th to Friday, July 10th for the Virtual Camp One Experience! You don’t want to miss it!

Meet the Director
My name is Ajay Martin. I’ve loved Anvil since I was an 11 year old camper at Anvil’s Boys Camp – Camp 4. Since then, I’ve served in various capacities at different Anvil camps, from sports crew to cabin leader to program lead to music coordinator. I live in Surrey, BC with my wife, Lindsay, and our social, food-loving little girl – Chloe. When we’re not at camp, you can find us at our church (Newton Christian Assembly), touring obscure, local restaurants, jamming out in our car to “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack or on our couch watching superhero movies on Disney+.
I am a firm believer that our God uses camp to change lives. God has used camp ministry in my life to challenge, encourage and grow me – and I’m convinced that He’ll do the same for you (and more!), if you let Him. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out by email or shoot us a message on our social media platforms!
