Welcome To Camp 9

Camp 9 on Anvil Island is the finale to an amazing summer for any teenager ages 13 -16! Our staff work hard to create 7 days of adventure, authentic community and life long memories for young people. Some years we camp overnight at the peak or trek out to make campfires, most years our cabins make crazy talented videos, one time Santa came in a helicopter and every year we eat, like every 3 hours! At Camp 9 we are always looking for big impact in our activities and in the relationships we build on the island – all of which we do because we believe that Jesus loves it when we know and take care of each other.

CAMP 9, 2020 THEME

Coming Soon!

Our program team is working on their theme for 2020.  We will update as soon as their team is ready!

Welcome To Camp 9

Each week brings about 75 volunteer staff dedicated to making this week an awesome experience for your child. Each camp has a Nurse or Doctor on staff, 4 certified lifeguards and 2 advanced first-aid attendants. The majority of our staff have served for many consecutive years and all have pre-camp training, criminal record checks and reference checks. A typical cabin has a Sr. Cabin Leader and a Junior Cabin Leader for 10 kids. We are committed to making this a safe, fun and loving environment for your child.

Meet the Director

Taryne Hagan is terrible at talking about herself. Her husband Scott would tell you she loves Anvil because it’s where she met him 10 years ago when she first began volunteering as staff. BUT, Taryne would tell you her love for Anvil started long before when she attended Camp 3 in 1999! Scott and Taryne live in White Rock and attend Village Church; they teach Sunday School as conditioning to ensure all 100 Camp 9 teenagers make it through the week in one piece. Taryne has done everything at Anvil from counselling to program directing to being the camp nurse (her day job). She joined the Camp 9 Directing team 4 years ago and it remains the highlight of her summer.

Fun Fact: Taryne loves cats and her husband and the Queen of England…sometimes in that order….
