One of the key elements of fulfiling our requirements to our insurance providers and regulatory bodies (BCCA) is the Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector check. We recognize that this can be a bit of an administrative challenge, and places an additional strain on our volunteers who give so much; however, we need to do our part to protect the children that parents have placed in our care. This is only one of the ways we do this.

Because of new governmental regulations, for 2012 we are strongly recommending everyone get a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector at their local police precinct as soon as possible.

Producing a valid criminal records check with vulnerable sector prior to coming to the island is mandatory for all staff over the age of 18.

Print the attached letter and take it to your local precinct to have it processed. PLEASE NOTE: some municipalities can take up to six weeks to complete a CRC. Please ask prior to submitting it how long this will likely take. Daybreak is not responsible for delays in CRC processing.
