HEAD LIFEGUARD
The successful applicant for the head guard position will be responsible for life-guarding activities
on the oceanfront and first aid/emergency care, for campers and staff of all ages throughout the
summer as well as leadership of the summer staff team. Interaction with and supervision of
campers and staff is required for water sports (wake boarding/water skiing etc.), swimming, hiking
and boating. These activities occur at varied times of day, which will require the head guard to
stay at the camp for the entire employment period, except for regular scheduled days off. In
addition to waterfront duties, all guards, as summer staff, will be responsible for first aid duties,
weekly inventory, safety and cabin checks, and some waterfront/camp maintenance duties as
assigned.
The head guard will have summer staff oversight responsibilities (organizational and spiritual
leadership, scheduling, conflict resolution and team building) and will be the primary contact for
camp directors as they coordinate program scheduling. Leadership and discipleship experience
would be an asset.
Qualifications:
Life-guarding experience with the following qualifications:

5. National Lifesaving Service Award
6. Valid CPR certification (Level C)

CANTEEN COORDINATOR
The successful applicant for this summer camp ministry position will be responsible for canteen
product ordering, sales, daily stocking and maintenance of camp and canteen facility. The
ordering and supplying of goods to the canteen requires an ability to shop or organize shopping
and delivery or pick up of product from suppliers such as Costco. These activities occur at varied
times of day, which will require the canteen manager to stay at the camp for the entire
employment period, except for regular scheduled days off. The canteen manager is expected to
work approximately 8 hours per day. The canteen manager will be responsible for compiling and sending email reports, communicating with the kitchen, liaison on the mainland, safety and cabin checks, waterfront camper tracking, canteen machine maintenance and other duties as assigned by the summer staff supervisor/administrator.

KITCHEN & INVENTORY COORDINATOR (HYBRID POSITION)
Job Description:
This position provides oversight and support for all the kitchen and canteen operations for the Summer 2025 Session (details outlined below). This means working alongside staff as well as the weekly volunteer kitchen heads and crews in the lead up to and throughout the camping season. In addition to this primary role, the coordinator will provide targeted support to the Camp Administrator for other office priorities like helping prepare for the annual fundraising banquet in May and providing back up for other administrative functions when needed.
Responsibilities
- Kitchen Inventory management and oversight: food and non-food equipment/items
- Food & equipment ordering: manage the bulk orders ahead of camp and then ongoing weekly food orders.
- Working with our primary partner Sysco Foods as well as other purchasing sources
- Opening the kitchen ahead of Summer Sessions and then assisting with closure
- Head Cook support:
- Pre-season Head Cooks meeting and initial prep (April/May)
- In-season final menu review for ordering & troubleshooting (May – August)
- Serve as the primary contact for kitchen concerns/questions including supporting office inquiries from parents/campers as needed
- Canteen ordering: working with the Canteen Operator to manage food/drink inventory & ordering.
- Canteen coverage: trained on point of service procedures to scheduled cover days off
- Rental group food support as requested (May-June)
Qualifications:
The role involves on-island time with a schedule that shifts between the pre-camp phase (April – June) compared to the Summer Session of July – September. Access to a vehicle and a valid drivers’ license is a requirement for employment. Off-island work would be split between the office and remote work from home, mostly daytime hours divided Monday – Friday with some specific evening meetings and occasional weekend needs. Flexibility for the off-island work is expected. The successful applicant would ideally possess the following:
- Strong organizational, communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- General computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft programs (inventory/ordering)
- Hard working, self-directed, positive team contributor
- Commercial retail, inventory/ordering and/or food services experience preferred
- Physical ability to support kitchen operations such as moving food, re-stocking shelves etc
All Daybreak Point Bible Camp staff must provide a negative Criminal Record Check as is standard when working with minors. Experience working with children and/or youth or in a summer camp setting would be beneficial.
Compensation: Hourly Range of $20-25/hr; 30 hours/week
Contract Dates: Start date between April 15 – May 1st; End date between August 30 – September 15, 2025

BOAT DRIVER
The successful applicant for this summer camp ministry position will be responsible for driving the
speedboat, working with the waterfront staff, and interacting with campers and staff of all ages
throughout the summer. Operation of the boat is required for water sports (wake boarding/water
skiing etc.), and transportation. These activities occur at varied times of day, which will require the
boat driver to stay at the camp for the entire employment period, except for regular scheduled
days off. In addition to boat operation duties, the boat driver/summer staff employee is
responsible for all equipment (skis, ropes, tubes etc.) repair and weekly inventory, safety checks,
and maintenance. The ski boat driver may also be trained to operate other camp equipment
(passenger transport boats and utility vehicles). This role will include general camp maintenance
duties that will be assigned by the caretaker. The boat driver/maintenance worker is required to
work 40 hours a week.
Qualifications:
1. Boating experience
2. Minimum 18 years of age by contract start date
3. Valid B.C. Driver’s License
4. Safe Boaters Certificate (Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card)
5. Basic First Aid certification*
6. Completed Criminal Record Check
*higher than basic first aid certification would be an asset.

maintenance.

ASSISTANT CARETAKER
The successful applicant for this camp ministry position will be responsible to support the
Caretaker in preparing and maintaining the facility for the spring and fall rental seasons. They will
live on site five days per week during May and June, providing Caretaker coverage two of those
days. They will be self-motivated and work well alone, under direction of the Caretaker. They will
also demonstrate a pleasant, helpful nature, as they will be representing Daybreak as Host to the
various user groups and volunteer groups. Operation of camp water taxis is required to transport
volunteers, service technicians, and occasional rental groups. Operation of various other camp
vehicles and equipment is also required. Other duties will include landscape maintenance,
janitorial, and various general maintenance tasks. Good physical conditioning is important.
Previous boating and trades experience are assets, however not required to start in the position.
The Assistant Caretaker is required to work 40 hours per week during May and June.
